Tracey Ross - Artist

Tracey Ross is a contemporary artist based in North Norfolk whose work is inspired by the vast horizons, expansive skies, and ever-changing light of the Norfolk coast. Living and working close to the shoreline, she spends much of her time walking the sandy beaches, salt marshes, and winding creeks, observing the subtle seasonal shifts that shape this unique landscape.

Sketching forms an essential part of her creative practice. Quick, intuitive drawings allow her to capture the atmosphere, energy, and emotional essence of a place. These studies become the starting point for paintings that explore the relationship between memory, landscape, and feeling. Working primarily in acrylics and mixed media, Tracey seeks to convey not only the breathtaking beauty of the coast but also the sense of mystery, light, and the thin space beyond the horizon.

Originally trained in textiles, Tracey completed an Advanced Diploma in Textiles at Great Yarmouth College before gaining a BA (Hons) in Visual Studies from Norwich University of the Arts. She later earned a Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector from City College Norwich.

Her work has been exhibited extensively throughout Norfolk and has also been selected for prestigious exhibitions including the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours in London. Tracey is represented by galleries in Norfolk and London, and her work has been featured in North Norfolk Living Magazine, Jackson’s Art Blog, and Norfolk Open Studios.

Alongside her studio practice, Tracey undertakes commissioned work, creating bespoke paintings that bring the beauty and atmosphere of the Norfolk coast into homes and private collections.
