Last year a group of around 20 local people sponsored a company called Royal Haskoning to do some analysis on tidal flooding in The Burnhams.
Given the serious tidal floods of 1953, 1978 and 2013, the sponsors wanted to see the likely consequences of future possibly more severe floods and also to understand the impact of defences such as Norton Bank and Overy Bank not just on land behind the banks but also on unprotected villages such as Burnham Overy Staithe and Burnham Deepdale.
